This place has a great vibe! Bailey was our server and she was a breath of fresh air! The Spinach DIP was great and the Ribeye was cooked well! You need to stop in for a date night, girls night or just a good meal at the bar!

We started off with the rustic bread appetizer which was a fresh nicely grilled bread however the balsamic dip was a little lack luster until you reached the bottom where all the seasonings were, then it was really nice. We both ordered the filet dinner. I had two old fashioned made with the Jack Daniel's Sinatra and he had three high balls with old elk wheated. Everything about dinner, drink's and bar service was fantastic!! The filet was well seasoned and could cut it with a butter knife. Cooked perfectly to our desired medium temperature. The fresh broccoli....oh my gosh! Perfectly seasoned and steamed. mashed potatoes were good to. I was pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased with everything here at The Barrel Room. We will definitely add TBR in the rotation of restaurants to eat dinner at. The plating could have been a little better. Highly recommend!

I had a recent reservation to have dinner at the Barrel Room in Chesapeake with a group of friends. The room presence a dim ambience, along with pub seating by the bar for those interested in beer, cocktail, and or wine. The servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure that our party of seven was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a cozy and rustic decor that makes you feel right at home. For appetizers the shisito peppers and the brussels sprouts were good beginning dishes. The rest of my party all had dishes that they all enjoyed. I particularly enjoyed the ahi tuna with rice and asparagus. They seared mines well enough to taste the flavorful seasoning that covered my ahi tuna. I also tried the ahi with the garden salad. I dipped my ahi with soy sauce and honey mustard dressing.. it was a well needed element that went well with my salad. The sriracha sauce and wasabi aioli complemented the dish. The finale to our meals were dessert! I had to say, I was overjoyed with excitement seeing nightingale's ice cream sandwich on the menu. It is my ultimate favorite ice cream sandwich and my guilty pleasure. I ordered the raspberry donut ice cream sandwich. I was obsessed and couldn't contain myself. I got my girlfriends hooked and they had to order ice cream sandwiches of their own. The 8 ice cream sandwich is mindblowing and a game changer.

We stopped in on a recommendation for my wife’s birthday. Great selection of bourbons! Delicious well-prepared food and a great atmosphere. Our waitress was helpful and really nice to talk with. We started with the seared ahi tuna nachos, truffle fries, and grilled rustic bread. We were surprised to how much tuna there was that we could have just had the nachos. The truffle fries were on point with the right amount of parmesan cheese. The rustic bread was ok but the balsamic olive oil and parmesan put it over the top. They have happy hour from 4-6 Monday-Saturday and the prices are amazing so we started with an old fashioned and an orange crush. Both were well made with the right flavors. We ordered so much food off the appetizer menu we never made it to the main course so we will have to go back. We defiantly recommend everyone stop in and enjoy a delicious meal and drinks!!!!

Our first time in the Barrel Room did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and had drinks and the smoked gouda. Savannah and Sidney were terrific! They are so responsiveness and attentiveness are above and beyond with their sweet personalities. We will be back!

As many times as I've been here and have never reviewed this place, I should be punished. Because this hidden gem shines so bright in many different ways. The atmosphere is vintage with some modern twists. The band(s) that show up to play are great and although it can be a bit loud at times, it's not an every night thing. The restaurant is small, so the noise does carry, when music is playing, but it's not too overwhelming, unless the place is full of older people that don't like it. The manager does a fantastic job with no law control, so I've personally never been bothered by it but others might be on band nights. The cocktail menu is great. They have a wide selection of bourbons, scotches, wines and beers and their staff takes a crazy amount of pride with the liquid beverages. On a busy night, you could wait a few extra minutes, but it's well worth it. The food is just incredible. I've had everything on the menu, to include a few specials and I have yet to have anything that didn't deserve applause. But my go to.....their hot honey chicken sandwich. It's incredible. The perfect amount of heat and that cabbage slaw just adds a perfect complement. Their dishes are always well prepared and served very artistically. Finally, the staff. I challenge someone to come in here and find an unhappy staff member. They are kind. They are busy. They are most importantly.....aware. They can carry on a conversation with any customer and still know what's going on around them and the teamwork is incredible. Kudos to the gentleman running this establishment and thank you to the kitchen staff and restaurant staff for everything they do. This gem is incredible.
